Fibromyalgia Tender Points


BEHIND FIBROMYALGIA




 
What are fibromyalgia Tender Points?                       
Tender points are places on the body,(18 specific points at 9 locations) that are exceptionally sensitive to touch. It is also a tool for the doctor to diagnose fibromyalgia.

 The 9 bilateral muscle locations are:
 1. Low Cervical Region (front neck area)
2. Second Rib (front chest area)

 3. Occiput ( back of neck)
 4. Trapezoid Muscle (back of shoulder area)
 5. Supraspinatus Muscle ( shoulder blade area)
 6. Lateral Epicondyle (elbow area)
 7. Greater Trochanter (rear hips area)
 8. Knee
9. Ankle area.
